Our Lady of The Snows - Tour the Basilica

Happy Feast day of Our Lady of the Snows.  In honor of the feast here is a link to the Basilica of St. Mary Major where you can take a guided tour of one of the pope's basilicas.  This church was built during the reign of Pope Liberius (352-366) on the site where snow miraculously fell on August 5th in answer to prayer.

On a personal note, the guided tour to the basilica was made possible through the work of students from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.  Two of my nephews attend that school. One of them may actually get to go to Rome to continue working on the project of creating virtual tours of other Catholic shrines.  There is already one of the Sistine Chapel.  It's a great way to get to see the important holy sites in Rome if you're unable to travel there.
