"Confessionals Aren't Saunas"

So says the spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Vienna, Austria.  After a local church began a renovation, it put it's confessionals on ebay to be auctioned off and, believe it or not, described them as perfect for a "one person sauna"!!  The AP reported:
"Some Catholics may well sweat in the confessional as they admit to things they shouldn’t have done. But Vienna’s archdiocese has ruled that the box-like structure where believers confess their sins cannot be turned into a sauna.  Bidding on a confessional described on eBay as ideal for conversion into a one-person sauna, a small bar or a children’s playhouse was ended when the archdiocese stepped in.  Archdiocese spokesman Erich Leitenberger told the daily Salzburger Nachrichten that auctioning 'objects that were used for dispensing the sacraments is not acceptable.'"

Why was the church getting rid of its confessionals, anyway? With the state of the world the way it is today, one would think we need more confessionals, not less.

(Also, AP has it wrong, you don't need to sweat in the confessional.  It's more like a refreshing shower, where you come out feeling clean and ready for a fresh start. )
