The "Holy Goalie" - Bishop Paprocki

I was at a Communion breakfast this morning and heard that the new bishop of Springfield, Illinois,  Bishop Paprocki, is called the "Holy Goalie" because he of his position on an ice hockey team.  The former auxiliary of Chicago plays in a "no check" league where he is known to "save souls and goals."  Here's  the new bishop all decked out in  hockey gear, including the cross on his helmet:

This picture was taken on a day when Bishop Paprocki was invited to skate with the Chicago Blackhawks back in 2006.    Nowadays, it's probably helpful for a bishop to be skilled in deflecting the shots being taken at the Church.  God bless Bishop Paprocki and keep him ever on smooth ice!
